On behalf of the Southern University Residential Housing staff, we welcome the opportunity to share information with you concerning our residential halls.  Regulations were established for the common good of all on-campus residents. They are designed to ensure that living on campus is as pleasant and comfortable as possible.  Residents who do not comply with the terms of these regulations may be officially removed from residence halls, referred to the University Disciplinary Committee, have financial charges assessed against them, or some combination of the preceding penalties.

Residential Housing programs are an integral part of the University education mission.  Our goals are to provide a safe living environment, and to promote individual growth and learning through community development activities and special programming sponsored by our residence halls.  Most students benefit educationally and socially from an on-campus living experience.

To make your "Southern Living" easier, please read this website and retain it for future reference.  Feel free to discuss its contents with any member of the housing staff, which can be reached at (225) 771-3590.

We hope your "home away from home" will be a rewarding experience.
